Brighter Graphics are proud to support a home-grown charity that has created London's first fully accessible, contemporary single storey holiday home, enabling physically disabled people and their families the opportunity to explore our capital city.
In February this year, Brighter Graphics sponsored Cara and her family to have a long weekend at Able Stay.
Cara’s mum, Karen Maude said “Our family enjoyed a wonderful February break in London thanks to the sponsorship of Brighter Graphics. We were selected by Ablestay to stay at their accessible accommodation and were also gifted spending money for the theatre, the London Eye, Kew Gardens and many of the London sights. We had an amazing time and it made the perfect February half term treat for my daughter Cara who has complex medical needs. The set up makes staying away from home so much less stressful for sure. We didn’t have to worry about equipment like we usually do as much of it was provided and every little detail has been thought of. Thank you so much for sponsoring our break. It opened up London for Cara and gave her a taste of city life. It was also a very well timed and much needed break and really gave Cara something to look forward to.”

AbleStay was set up by Jo and Charles Van Berckel in 2020. Their beloved son, Kit, was born with quadriplegic cerebral palsy in 2008 and they have made it their mission to ensure his life is exceptional in every way. Charles and Jo have lived experience of the accessibility challenges faced when going on holiday or short breaks.
They discovered that London, although claiming to be one of the most accessible cities in Europe, has no accommodation that is fully accessible for those with complex physical disabilities. There are ¼ million + people in the UK with complex physical disability (Cerebral Palsy, MND, Muscular Dystrophy, Spinal Muscular Atrophy, Brain Injury and Spinal Cord Injury etc) and there is nowhere suitable to stay in London.
